Serbia considers border changes Macedonia, Kosovo invalid

Serbia's deputy prime minister Bozidar Djelic said that Serbia regrets the fact that Macedonia has recognized Kosovo and added that Serbia will consider any border changes between Kosovo and Macedonia unlawful. He made the remark while attending a conference on European integration in Skopje.
Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt said he does not expect Greece to veto Macedonia's bid to join the European Union because of the long-standing name dispute between the two countries. An ongoing dialog has still not resulted in a solution of the problem.
HP LaserJet 3030 problem: printing multi-page document on single sheet

One of the printers shared from a Windows 2003 server is a HP LaserJet 3030, via a JetDirect print server. For unknown reasons this printer started printing documents consisting of multiple pages on one single sheet, printing each page right on top of the previous information. Printing any page individually from the same document worked fine.
Arrest of Mladic aides was mistake, prosecutor says

Serbia's war crimes prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic said that Serbia should have trailed Ratko Mladic's aides in 2006 instead of arresting them. The arrests set back the search for Mladic, he said. The arrest of both Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic are conditions for Serbia to join the EU.

Name dispute Macedonia and Greece possibly resolved by December 2, 2009

Novinite.com reported that Macedonia has indicated it is ready to hold direct talks with Greece regarding the long standing name dispute. The prime ministers of both countries have until December 2 to resolve the issue so that the European Commission can be informed of the new name for Macedonia on December 2.
Macedonia could then start EU accession negotiations in April 2010.
Legal council appointed to Karadzic

ICTY said Richard Harvey will act as legal council for Karadzic, should he continue to boycott his trial. Karadzicv has already indicated he will not cooperate with Harvey.

Update December 13: Looks like nobody guessed the date right, including me. Petra was dead on with the length and Barb was closest with the weight (Sophie was 19" and weighs 5-15).
The baby's calculated due date is December 6. There is no prize to be won, just bragging rights.
Mass grave discovered near Srebrenica

A new secondary mass grave was discovered near the Bosnia town of Vidikovac, east of Srebrenica. The victims are believed to be from the 1995 Srebrenica massacre. So far, approximately 5,600 victims have been identified.
EUFOR mission in Bosnia extended until 2010

During the 6220th meeting of the UN Security Council it was unanimously decided that the mission of EUFOR (European Union Force) in Bosnia-Herzegovina will be authorized until November 18, 2010. NATO will maintain a head quarters there. The High Representative will continue to oversee implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement that ended the war in Bosnia in December 1995.
Kosovo elections end peacefully

In Kosovo, local elections were held in 36 municipalities for the first time since Kosovo's declaration of independence in February 2008. Officials said 45 percent of the 1.5 million registered voters cast ballots.
No major cases of violence or fraud were reported.
Shots fired at Kosovo election candidate

BalkanInsight reported that two shots were fired at the vehicle of Hysni Ahmeti, candidate for position of mayor of Mitrovica. The incident ocurred in the town of Supkovc.
This is the second incident ahead of the polls.
Violence in Kosovo ahead of local polls

Rocks and eggs were thrown at the convoy of Kosovo prime minister Hashim Thaci in the town of Decan, just days ahead of Kosovo's first local polls next Sunday. This is the first time local elections are held after Kosovo declared its independence from Serbia in February 2008. Three arrests were made.
German KFOR commander general Markus Bentler said that 13,000 KFOR troops will be ready to respond if needed.
Karadzic appeals decision to appoint council

Radovan Karadzic asked ICTY to hear his appeal against the decision to appoint legal counsel after his refusal to show up. He argues he was not provided with a choice, plus he argues that the time for his attorney to prepare is insufficient.
Karadzic will be allowed to continue to represent himself but is forced to work with an appointed attorney. ICTY has threatened that Karadzic will forfeit this right should he continue to boycott the proceedings.
